Ingredients · for 6 (scales to your household)

Per-ingredient cost is the amount this recipe uses at the lowest Canadian price we have on file; the per-serving total above adds the range up to the dearest price and for buying whole packages.

Method

  1. Add the apples to a 6- to 8-quart (5.5- to 7.5-liter) slow cooker. Sprinkle in the sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Gently toss to combine.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Using a pastry cutter or two butter knives, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles cornmeal. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or until the apples are tender.
  5. Serve hot. Store the cooled crumble in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
