Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients · for 16 (scales to your household)

• 4 Russet potatoes $3.10
• 4 tbsp Butter ((1 stick)) $0.81
• 2 tsp Garlic $0.03
• 1 tsp Dried onion flakes $0.14
• 1/8 cup Milk $0.05
• 1 tsp Table salt $0.05
• 1/2 tsp Pepper $0.07

Method

1. Peel the potatoes & place them in a large stockpot.
2. Cover with water, add the lid & bring to a boil.
3. Continue boiling until the potatoes are soft & falling apart when poked with a fork.
4. Transfer the cooked potatoes to a large electric mixer bowl using a slotted spoon.
5. Add salt, pepper, garlic, onion flakes. Beat with the whip attachment until mashed.
6. Add butter & milk.
7. Continue to beat for approximately 15 minutes at high speed (until all lumps are gone & it's very creamy) before serving.
