Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce

• 6 Tablespoons Salted butter $1.21
• 1 Tablespoon Garlic $0.05
• 2 Tablespoons All-purpose flour $0.03
• 1 1/2 cups Heavy cream $3.61
• 1 1/2 cups Milk $0.63
• 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese $1.35
• 1/2 cup Romano cheese $3.94
• 1/2 tsp Salt $0.03
• 1/4 tsp Black pepper $0.03
• 1 lb. Fettuccine $3.06
• 2 tbsp Parsley $0.20

Method

1. Boil the fettuccine according to package instructions. As the water preheats, begin the sauce.
2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for one minute.
3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
4. Add the heavy cream in splashes, stirring continuously. Add the milk in the same manner.
5. Bring to a gentle bubble, then reduce heat to a simmer. It will continue to thicken as it simmers.
6. Reduce heat to low and slowly stir in the cheese. Taste and season with salt/pepper if desired.
7. Drain the pasta and combine it with the sauce until well incorporated. The pasta will absorb the sauce and it will continue to thicken.
8. Garnish with parsley and serve!
