Per-ingredient cost is the amount this recipe uses at the lowest Canadian price we have on file; the per-serving total above adds the range up to the dearest price and for buying whole packages. A line marked not counted is one we couldn't measure from the amount as written — it is missing from the total, not free.
Method
- Gather the ingredients.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch cast-iron skillet and line with parchment paper, if desired. Alternatively, prepare a 6-inch or 7-inch round cake pan.
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir or whisk to blend and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar; whisk thoroughly.
- Whisk in the egg and vanilla and continue to whisk until smooth and well blended.
- Add the flour mixture and stir until blended.
- Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Spread the dough in the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 21 to 24 minutes, or until lightly browned and just firm in the center. Remove the pan to a rack and let the Pizookie cool slightly.
- To serve, top the warm Pizookie with a few scoops of ice cream and drizzle with ice cream topping or syrup if desired.
