Quick Chili

Method

1. Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
2. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until meat is browned and onion is softened. Drain excess fat.
3. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, basil, crushed chilies, salt, oregano, paprika, black pepper, cayenne, cocoa powder, and cinnamon. Cook spices with the meat for 1 minute.
4. Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, lentils, tomato sauce, and beer (if using). Stir well.
5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium.
6. Simmer uncovered 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Serve hot. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
