Mealime is closing on 21 October 2026. Pro has been made free for everyone until then, and existing Pro subscriptions will not renew. The part that catches people out: Mealime has no recipe export. Its recipes move to Meals Hub inside Albertsons' grocery apps, but your account, and the list of recipes you saved, is deleted. This page is about what to do before then. The short version: open Mealime, tap Share on each recipe you actually cook, and paste the links on the rescue page — they come across with their ingredients, steps and cook times, up to sixty at a time.

Why people switch from Mealime to Hearth
- Bring the recipes across by pasting their links. Open Mealime, tap Share on each recipe you actually cook, and paste the links on the rescue page. Ingredients, steps and cook times come with them. There is no cap on this and it costs nothing — do all of them.
- Then it becomes a week, not a shelf. Favourite what you liked, drop them into a week, and the shopping list builds itself: one line per ingredient no matter how many recipes use it, minus what is already in your pantry, fridge and freezer.
- You want to know what dinner costs. Real per-serving cost in Canadian dollars, and this week's flyer sales factored in — neither of which Mealime did.
- Cooking updates the kitchen. Make a recipe and the ingredients come off your shelves, so next week's list already knows what you used.
Where Mealime wins (the honest part)
- Mealime picked your week faster than we do. One tap, a plan, done. Hearth expects you to choose your recipes — that is the trade for knowing what they cost and what is already in your kitchen.
Mealime closes on 21 October 2026 and cannot export your recipes, so the only real question is where you rebuild, and how much of it you keep. Paste your recipe links on the rescue page and they come across with their ingredients, steps and cook times. From there it is one system: favourite what you cook, plan a week from it, and get a list that merges what repeats and subtracts what is already in your kitchen. Cooks have already started coming over from the Mealime threads on Reddit, including people who tried the other alternatives first. If the thing you kept wishing Mealime did was tell you what dinner actually costs and what is on sale near you, that is what Hearth is for, at $12 a year for the whole household.
